Dutch drama directed by Paul Verhoeven which follows the lives of three young amateur dirt-bike motorcycle racers who are desperate to emulate their hero Gerrit Witkamp (Rutger Hauer). However, when all three fall for Fientje (Renee Soutendijk), a young woman who sells French fries and hot dogs at the races, their efforts to create better lives for themselves away from the working class streets of Rotterdam do not quite go as planned.
